The “Haus am Strom” is the environmental station of the Passau district. The building is strikingly designed as a “Danube wave”. There is a unique experiential exhibition on the topics of nature, water and energy in the Danube region. Guided tours through the nature reserve (“In the Valley of Lizards and Snakes”) through the Jochenstein hydroelectric power plant (the largest run-of-river power plant in Germany) and numerous events for visitors of all ages make the Haus am Strom an unforgettable excursion destination.
In the exhibition you can experience the water and nature in the Danube Valley. Young and old learn a lot about fauna and flora as well as the geological development of the Danube Valley. The Haus am Strom is definitely worth a trip that is not only informative but also exciting and eventful.
The beer garden and bistro serve organic and regional delicacies.
